Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a schoolteacher while her mother was a stay at home mom. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. From a young age, McCormick loved to sing and dance and would often present puppet shows to the neighborhood children. Following her win in her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was just 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting into the world of entertainment. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her debut major performance in 1964 on a tv commercial for Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It up until It breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. The show ran for 5 seasons. McCormick revealed the story Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity in the hands of Barry Williams during the five-year period of the show. At the time, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. She said that it would be possible, however we never had the right moment to make the decision.
